Before Buying a Glowforge: Valuable Advice

Glowforge Discount

Buying a Glowforge laser can cost you a hefty chunk of change compared to many things we buy throughout life. It’s probably not too often you are forking up more than $2000 for a piece of equipment, so I completely understand the ongoing search for the best price. Believe me, I do it too…with everything I plan to purchase!

To help with your search and save you some time, I wrote out the details on Glowforge discounts. I also provided some tips on how to save a little extra money by using a credit card. Every penny helps, right? So if you are thinking about buying a Glowforge laser, check out this article first.

Does Glowforge Offer a Military, Student, or Healthcare Discount?

Currently, Glowforge, Inc does not offer discounts outside of their referral program.

In order to be a part of their referral program, you must own a Glowforge laser. This means most promo codes found within coupon sites will be bogus. In fact, there isn’t even a location to add a discount code when completing the checkout process.

The good news is that it isn’t very hard to find referral links. The even better news is that using someone’s referral link will not only score you a discount, but it will also reward the owner with the same amount. Looks like your good deed is met for the day!

Where Can I Get a Glowforge Discount?

  1. Click here or on the link at the top of the page.
  2. Facebook groups such as the Glowforge User Group and Glowforge Makers.
  3. Maker Instagrams
  4. YouTube Channels such as When Geeks Craft, JDM3D, Salt Make City, Troy the Maker, Lisa Potts Designs, Fresh Start Customs, The Atlanta Maker, and Tim Ung.
  5. Maker Websites such as When Geeks Craft, Made with Forge, Kim & Garrett make it, Danielle Wethington, and Forging my way.

How Much is the Glowforge Discount?

Plus$3,995$250$3,745

Additional Glowforge Savings and Benefits

Reward credit cards are a great way to score additional savings and benefits; however, using a credit card to buy a Glowforge is not the best option for everyone. If you are disciplined, then maybe it’s not a bad idea. If you already have the cash to pay for the Glowforge, then it’s probably a great idea.

In order to maximize the discounts and benefits, I would research new credit card offers rather than using one you already own. This will allow you to capitalize on the credit card’s introductory offer since it is a fairly large purchase.

Search for credit cards that have cashback offers and long purchase periods with 0% APR.

Take the time to read the terms and review any additional benefits. Some credit cards offer purchase protection and extended warranty protection.

Although I don’t want to get too detailed on the finances as this site is meant for laser crafting, I do want to provide a few examples of the current offers (Oct 2020) out there just to give you an idea.

Chase Freedom Unlimited

No annual fee, Earn $200 bonus after spending $500 in the first 3 months, Earn 1.5% cashback on the purchase, 0% intro APR for 15 months from account opening on purchases.

* This is the same card I used to purchase my Glowforge Pro. It also offers extended warranty protection for an additional year after the manufacturer’s warranty on qualified purchases.

* The intro bonus will not work on the basic model unless you make other purchases to exceed $3000 within 3 months. For that reason, I omitted the basic model in the table below.

As I previously stated, credit cards are not a good idea for everyone. Please take the time to review your finances and budget so you can make the best decision for your situation!

Final words

Regardless of how you plan to purchase your Glowforge, you definitely should not buy one without using someone’s referral link. You would literally be wasting money and good deeds.
